Monographs are given final approval at one of the three 3 yearly Sessions of the European Pharmacopoeia Commission: -

• Adoption (March, June and November);

...

• Publication (6 months after adoption);

...

• Implementation (6 months after publication).

In exceptional cases, monographs may be implemented earlier than the schedule given above, in which case notification is made via the web site website and in Pharmeuropa.

Monographs indicated as “corrected” ‘corrected’ are effective from the publication date.
