Serology and NAT studies
A laboratory is classified as ‘satisfactory’ if:
- all core-positive and core-negative samples are correctly determined as ‘reactive’ or ‘non-reactive’, respectively;
- the ratios interpreted from the raw data provided are correct;
- the ratios obtained are consistent/coherent for serial dilutions of the samples serially diluted from the same source material.
Immuno-haematology studies
A laboratory is classified as ‘satisfactory’ if all core-positive samples are correctly characterised/found to be positive.
Microbiology studies
A laboratory is classified as ‘satisfactory’ if all positive and negative samples are correctly determined as ‘contaminated’ or ‘non-contaminated’, respectively. If identification of contaminated samples is performed routinely, identification results have to be submitted and the identification must be correct.
