We acknowledge that micro-organism taxonomy may evolve over time, and that this can result in potential differences between the strain names stated in the Ph. Eur. texts and those used by culture collections; however, the culture collection references (e.g. ATCC 6633) cited in the Ph. Eur. take precedence over the strain names. Therefore, when purchasing micro-organisms from culture collections, please refer to the culture collection references listed in the Ph. Eur.
