It is not the policy of the European Pharmacopoeia to give the wavenumbers of the bands on the Infra-Red spectrum. There are, however, three calibration bands of the polystyrene film on the spectrum to help identify the bands of the substance. For confirmation of identity it is sufficient to show that the bands of the sample & reference spectra are concordant, ie they are both similar both in position & intensity (see General Method La politique de la Pharmacopée Européenne est de ne pas donner les nombres d’onde des bandes sur le spectre infrarouge. Il existe cependant trois bandes d’étalonnage du film polystyrène sur le spectre pour aider à l’identification des bandes de la substance. Pour confirmer l’identité, il suffit de montrer que les bandes de l’échantillon & les spectres de référence sont concordants, c’est-à-dire qu’ils sont semblables quant à leur position & leur intensité (voir Méthode Générale 2.2.24.)
