EDQM reference standard labels consist of a primary label that is attached directly to the vial.

In some cases, an additional transparent plastic outer label bearing the CLP pictograms is added. This label is placed in such a way that it does not cover any information on the primary label attached to the vial.

This outer label forms part of the official reference standard labelling and should not be removed from the vial, as doing so may damage the primary label and potential dangers will not be communicated to the end user of the standard.

The EDQM will not be able to replace vials where the outer label has been removed.
