Sub-batches are obtained by filling containers with material from the same batch of bulk material. All the necessary precautions are taken to guarantee that the quality and specifications of the sub-batches do not differ from each other.

Currently, sub-batches are labelled as follows: 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, etc.

Previously, sub-batches were labelled as follows: 1a, 1b, 1c, etc. This classification system is gradually being replaced.

All information given for a batch number X, such as assigned value or end of validity date , applies to all sub-batches (X.1, X.2, etc.).
