Before you make your order, check if the local, regional or national authorities in the importing country to which you are importing requires special documents or allows importation at allrequire any specific documentation and confirm that the product you wish to order can be legally imported. All necessary documentation must be provided to the EDQM when placing your order. This is particularly important when you wish to purchase (especially for biological products. Please consult the ‘Terms of Supply’, set out in the Pharmaceutical Reference Standards Official Catalogue. 
In the case of controlled substances (identified with the symbol * in the Catalogue), the EDQM will need an export permit from the French authorities before the goods can be dispatched. It can take up to 6 weeks for the EDQM to obtain these licenses). For details related to specific countries, please consult the Ph. Eur. Reference Standards Database and the order confirmation.

For controlled items, identified in our official online Ph. Eur. Reference Standards Databaseby an asterisk (“*”), you need to provide the EDQM with an import licence before we can request an export licence from the French authorities to send you the products. Please note that it can take up to 10 weeks to obtain this document.
