In principle, you can choose one any of the methods procedures described in general chapter 2.2.24; however, unless if the monograph prescribes a comparison with a reference spectrum or an explicit preparation. Alternatively, cross-validation with the monograph method procedure is required. In any case, you have to apply the same procedures for the substance to be examined and the reference standard, under the same conditions.
