Answer:

The EDQM should be informed in writing when a holder no longer wishes to maintain a CEP. The letter requesting the withdrawal (definitive cancellation) of the CEP should state the reasons why the company no longer wishes to maintain the CEP and should be submitted via the Common European Submission Portal (CESP). On receipt of the letter, the EDQM will take appropriate action to withdraw the CEP. As described in the EDQM Policy Suspension or Withdrawal of a Certificate of Suitability (PA/PH/CEP (08) 17), the EDQM may request additional information or decide to inform the relevant authorities of the withdrawal. The withdrawal of the CEP will be confirmed to the holder in writing and the change in status will be made publically available on the EDQM website and on the Certification Database. The CEP will then appear as ‘WITHDRAWN BY HOLDER’extension ‘P0X’ or ‘PXX’ corresponds to the on-going procedure for the associated CEP dossier. For example, ‘P01’ corresponds to the initial evaluation of a CEP dossier and is used until the certificate of suitability is granted. P02 means the second procedure for the same dossier, related to the submission of a change in the application after the initial certificate of suitability has been granted.

This numbering is used only as reference on the communication letters for on-going procedures. It is different from the full CEP number (CEP 202X-XXX-Rev XX) which characterises the certificate issued by the EDQM.
